Milwaukee has an innovative plan to create thousands of jobs by becoming a global hub for water technology and research. The City is host to a variety of new projects focused on water technology, including the country's first School of Freshwater Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a
business park for water technology companies. Veolia North America has one of its largest wastewater treatment facilities in Milwaukee and funds $1.5 million R&D water research program.
