Leading Safety Through Leading Indicators

Leading Indicator Web App: Safety Begins With Every Employee

Through Veolia’s targeted strategy to shift its focus from lagging indicators to leading indicators, our safety metrics and culture have significantly improved. As part of this transition, Veolia recently launched an innovative website application to manage and track all safety incidents and leading indicators using Intelex’s software - encouraging employees to prioritize safety on a daily basis.

The software is accessible via a customized web application, available for use on employee cell phones, workstations, tablets or chromebook kiosk. The self-reporting application allows employees to be more engaged and focused on safety on a daily basis and streamlines reporting so that only one system is used to manage and track all incidents.

“Previously, Veolia’s sites were leveraging various tools and systems to capture safety data,” said Derek Artz, manager of IT process for the NJ Branch of Veolia’s Environmental Solutions & Services (ESS) business. "By rolling out a web app that every Veolia employee can use anywhere, anytime and on any device, we capture the information directly from the employee into one database to track and report on safety metrics - strengthening our teams' focus and commitment to safety."
