Veolia Acquires Assets of Heritage Environmental Services Puerto Rico

Acquisition of hazardous waste assets demonstrates Veolia's commitment to the industry

Veolia announced on December 1st that a transaction was finalized to acquire the assets of Heritage Environmental Services Puerto Rico. The acquisition demonstrates our commitment to better serve our customers and grow our geographic coverage and business in Puerto Rico. We will also be able to leverage our operational synergies to expand our customer base and breadth of services to the pharmaceutical market.

Heritage operated a waste processing facility in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, located 50 miles west of San Juan. The site is located northwest of Veolia's facility in Gurabo. This is a 10-day transportation facility with specific waste stream treatment capabilities; it manages approximately two million pounds of waste per year.

Heritage had seven full-time employees; all of them have already transitioned to Veolia. They will continue to apply their expertise and skills to efficiently and safely service our customers. In fact, both the Heritage and Veolia teams have been working together assisting each other and supporting our customers with their post hurricane emergency response and rebuilding needs.

Most importantly, the Heritage Puerto Rico team shares Veolia’s commitment to Goal Zero safety performance and environmental compliance, which is an essential cultural fit.
