Hurricane Laura temporarily suspends Port Arthur Treatment Complex services

Hurricane Laura

Dear valued customers and partners,

As you are aware, Hurricane Laura made landfall last Thursday morning at 1 AM near Cameron, LA. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Texas and Louisiana who have been impacted by this powerful storm and the emergency responders who are supporting them.

The Port Arthur treatment complex experienced severe winds and rain, but no storm surge, significant damage, environmental concerns or loss of power. After completing all of our emergency preparedness tasks, we safely evacuated our employees prior to the most severe hours of the storm. We are still working to support their personal needs as they return to their Veolia roles; however, power outages are widespread affecting our employee availability.

We have restarted the incinerator and are running at full capacity, and are working to add all affected customer loads back to the schedule by the end of this week. If your service has been affected by the hurricane, please call your local Account Manager or Customer Service Representative with any questions. Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,

Bob Cappadona
