Required every three years for employees responsible for transportation of hazardous materials, including signing hazardous waste shipping papers, and medical waste tracking documents. RCRA Hazardous Waste Awareness Training

THIS TRAINING APPLIES TO ALL STATES. Applies to all employees who have responsibilities related to the generation, management or response to the release of hazardous waste. (40 CFR 262.16(9) & 262.17(7))Training will cover the following topics: General information on pertinent federal regulations; Definitions of hazardous and universal waste from the US EPA; Labeling, segregation, and container management for hazardous and universal waste; Storage limits for hazardous waste; Response to hazardous and universal waste releases, including contacting outside emergency agencies.

 

CA Comprehensive Lab Safety Training

THIS TRAINING APPLIES TO CALIFORNIA ONLY. This class is required annually for employees who work with or around hazardous materials, hazardous wastes, and biohazardous materials including BBP. (8 CCR 5191/5193/5194, 22 CCR 66262.34(a)(4), 66265.16) This class covers the following topics to help your laboratory personnel satisfy their annual training requirements in the following areas: 

  1. Hazard Communication and Chemical Hygiene standards; Chemical hazards; Chemical handling; Safety Data Sheets (SDS); Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for classifying and labeling chemicals; Chemical labeling; PPE; Chemical storage; spill response.
  2. Federal and California specific hazardous waste requirements, and general information on pertinent regulations; Definitions of hazardous, universal, and medical waste in the State of California; Labeling, segregation, and container management for hazardous and universal waste; Storage limits for hazardous waste; Response to hazardous and universal waste releases, including contacting outside emergency agencies.
  3. General awareness regarding medical waste & Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) safety, including Other Potentially Infectious Material (OPIM), universal precautions, clean up, exposure response, and waste disposal.

THIS TRAINING APPLIES TO CALIFORNIA ONLY. Required annually for employees with responsibilities related to the generation, management, or response to releasing hazardous waste. (22 CCR 66262.34(a)(4), 66265.16) This class covers the following topics: Federal and California-specific hazardous waste requirements, and general information on pertinent regulations; Definitions of hazardous and universal waste in the State of California; Labeling, segregation, and container management for hazardous and universal waste; Storage limits for hazardous waste; Response to hazardous and universal waste releases, including contacting outside emergency agencies. This training also provides general awareness regarding medical waste regulated under the CA Health and Safety Code.
