Hazardous Materials Technician
Veolia's 24-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician course complies with the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(iii) training requirements for employees who respond to actual or potential releases of hazardous substances for the purpose of stopping the release. This is a three-day training program for individuals who assume a more aggressive role than first responder.

Who should attend
→ Emergency Response employees that offensively approach, contain and/or confine a spill
→ Employees who work on contaminated sites including, but not limited to, occasional workers with no exposure and regular workers with no exposure. (This training does not include the required one day supervised field experience.)
Training fees for this program are $1,075 per attendee with a 10-person class minimum (we will notify you). Please notify us at least two weeks in advance for any cancellations. On-Scene Incident Commander
Veolia's 8-Hour On-Scene Incident Commander course complies with the OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6)(v) for employees who will assume control of an incident scene. Trainees learn how to implement their employer's incident command system and appropriate emergency response plans when faced with an incident. Training also encompasses the risks associated with employees working in chemical protective clothing. Prerequisites include current 24-Hour Hazardous Materials Technician certification.

Wisconsin Hazardous Materials and Waste Disposal Awareness
The State of Wisconsin Bureau of State Risk Management (BSRM) will sponsor Awareness Level training for all employees working at state-owned or state-operated facilities that use and dispose of materials or objects that contain hazardous chemical products. These training sessions are free of charge to eligible employees. The training includes information on the management and proper disposal of products such as: fluorescent lamps, mercury switches, oils, paints, thinners, laboratory chemicals, cleaners, corrosives (acids and bases) and poisons. Attendees are encouraged to bring specific examples and/or questions about hazardous material management from their workplace for general discussion.
State-owned or operated facilities that use products or objects that contain hazardous chemicals are required to provide training to "ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper waste handling, disposal and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and emergencies." These training sessions are designed to meet the state regulatory requirements in Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 662. 192 (e) 3 for Small Quantity Generators of Hazardous Waste and NR 673. 16 for Small Quantity Handlers of Universal Waste. Sessions will be held at several locations throughout the State of Wisconsin from February 22 through April 10, 2018.

→ Facility operations, maintenance, and buildings and grounds management personnel
→ Personnel involved with vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair including: surface preparation and painting, cleaning activities, battery and lamp replacement, boiler and/or swimming pool maintenance, parts washing, fluid transfers and oil or antifreeze changes
→ Personnel working in laboratories that generate waste solvents or other chemical wastes
→ Personnel working in stock/supply-areas that order, receive or store chemical products
→ Supervisors who oversee personnel with the above duties
The Bureau of State Risk Management sponsors this FREE training for employees working at state-owned or operated facilities and to employees of municipalities, tribal governments, public K-12 schools, technical colleges and universities.
First Responder Operations Level (HAZWOPER Refresher)
Veolia's First Responder Operations Level - HAZWOPER Refresher course complies with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and is for responders who are part of the initial site response to releases or potential releases of hazardous substances for the purpose of protecting nearby persons, property or the environment.

→ Emergency Response employees that provide initial defensive action (turning on/off equipment, HVAC, valves, covering drains, etc.)

→ HAZWOPER trained personnel including, but not limited to: First Responder Operations Level, Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Specialist, On-Scene Incident Commander
→ Employees who work on contaminated sites including, but not limited to: those exposed to hazardous substances, Superfund site workers, general site workers engaged in hazardous substance removal, occasional workers with no exposure, regular workers with no exposure and site management

Hazardous Materials Transportation (DOT) Initial - Refresher Training
Veolia's Hazardous Materials Transportation Initial - Refresher course complies with DOT training requirements stated in 49 CFR 172.704 and covers general awareness/familiarization training and safety training for all HazMat employees. This session also covers Hazardous Materials Security training. Please note that this course focuses on the requirements for carriage by public highway. It does not cover training required for air shipment of dangerous goods or modal-specific training for carriage by rail or vessel.

Veolia's Hazardous Waste Management Initial - Annual Refresher Training course complies with EPA training requirements stated in 40 CFR 265.16 for all employees who manage hazardous waste.
