At this year’s International District Energy Association (IDEA) Campus Energy Conference, Veolia staff hosted seminars and workshops to share their expertise across district energy, energy management and operations and maintenance (O&M) within campus environments.

Hosted at the University of Texas in Austin from February 8-12, the IDEA conference featured several Veolia employees who led presentations and discussions related to operating efficient and reliable campus utilities.
Patrick Davin, a facility operations manager at NFL Films for Veolia, hosted panel sessions related to thermal distribution. Topics included monitoring systems, chilled water and hot water distribution systems, and O&M tips related to steam manholes, piping, valves and insulation. Veolia’s Sales Director Thomas McCarthy also led a technical presentation, "Effective O&M: Integrating CHP at the University of Minnesota (UMN), " highlighting Veolia’s role as the University’s energy plant operator throughout the ongoing development of its new Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant. As the O&M provider for UMN’s existing steam plants and the future operator of its new CHP plant, Veolia is helping to facilitate long-range O&M planning during the CHP development to better streamline efficiencies and reduce costs.
