More on DryAsh™
Veolia's DryAsh™ technology is an advanced separation solution that converts wet fly ash to a more workable dry state. An engineered system of tanks, piping, pumps, hydraulic excavation and separations technologies, DryAsh™ can be applied as a permanent or temporary inline process on your plant’s property. This process works around the clock to remove wet ash from your lagoon, or receives wet fly ash directly from your waste outfall. The sluiced material is then processed into DryAsh™ and transported to an on-site or off-site landfill, or redirected for beneficial reuse. With DryAsh™ you can:

What's ACTIFLO®?
With more than 800 references all over the world, Veolia's ACTIFLO® technology has been applied to municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment for more than 20 years. ACTIFLO® is a high rate compact water clarification process in which water is flocculated with microsand and polymer in a Turbomix® draft tube. The microsand enhances the formation of robust flocs and acts as ballast, significantly increasing their settling velocity. The unique characteristics of the resulting microsand ballasted flocs allow for clarifier designs with very short retension times, high rise rates and extremely compact system footprints that are up to 50 times smaller than other clarification processes of similar capacity. Key benefits of ACTIFLO® include:
  • High treatment efficiency with a removal rate of turbidity greater than 90%
  • Can be entirely automated and remotely controlled
  • Veolia offers prefabricated package plants (1,000 to 10,000 cubic meter capacity per day) which can be combined for larger flow rates

Details on Hydrotech™
The Hydrotech™ Discfilter is a gravity fed self-cleaning filter that offers a large filter area in a small footprint. Solids catch on the inside of the filter panels mounted on the two sides of the disc segments, raising the water level which triggers a level sensor to start the disc to rotate and a backwash cycle begins. High pressure rinse water washes the solids off the filter media into the solids collection trough. Typically the backwash requires .05 to 3%  of the total filtered water flow. This filtration technology can be combined with DryAsh™ and Actiflo®, but may also be used independently based on the composition of the water being treated. 
  • Can filter media with pore sizes as small as 10 microns
