The City of Gloucester recently awarded Veolia, the global leader in optimized resource management, a new long-term contract for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of the city's 29 sewage pump stations, 424 residential grinder pumps and 1,234 septic tank effluent pump systems.  In an expansion to the previous contract’s O&M scope, Veolia will also provide additional pump inspections and waste cleaning – a service that was previously performed by a contractor and will bring enhanced value to the community.
As the city's water and wastewater O&M partner for nearly seven years, Veolia has worked closely with Gloucester to improve safety, compliance, utility infrastructure and drinking water quality for the community.  As a result of Veolia’s extensive O&M expertise, familiarity with the city’s infrastructure and competitive value-based cost structure, the City of Gloucester awarded the publicly bid eight-year contract to Veolia, which commenced on July 1st
“We are thrilled to grow our O&M partnership with the City of Gloucester,” said Farzin Kiani, PE, VP of business development for Veolia North America’s Municipal & Commercial business.  “The award of this contract reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional utility services to the community at a reasonable cost.”
“As a global leader in operating water and wastewater systems around the world, we’re pleased to expand our long-term partnership with Veolia,” said Director of Public Works Michael Hale.  “With an exceptional O&M record in the city, broad utility operations expertise and competitive pricing, Veolia brings a greater value to the City of Gloucester.”
