The challenge

24-year record of comprehensive O&M solutions for "America's Family Resort."

The project challenges are:

  • The partnership, which began in 1985, has met the evolving needs of this resort community.

  • Veolia North America is responsible under a long-term operate/maintain/manage (O&M) contract for the resort's water facilities (0.15-MGD surface/ground water treatment plant, eight water wells, 5-mile distribution system and three pressure booster stations) and its wastewater facilities (0.168-MGD secondary lagoon treatment plant, 0.04-MGD Living Machine treatment plant, 7-mile collection system, five lift stations and effluent sprayfields).

Veolia’s solution

Impressive solutions:

  • Interface with client's engineers to ensure that existing services were not interrupted as new system came online.

  • Help resort community grow, nearly tripling in size since contract began.

  • Support client's commitment to buy locally by seeking out best values for supplies and labor.

  • Participate in community activities.

Surpassed goals:

  • Maintained long-running, flexible partnership that has adjusted to changing needs.

  • Successfully assisted in startup and shakedown of client's unusual wastewater treatment technology, Living Machine ®.

  • Continued active participation in client's comprehensive environmental programs.
