Supporting energy benchmarking in Philadelphia

City of Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA’S ENERGY AND BENCHMARKING DISCLOSURE LAW

The City of Philadelphia requires all commercial and multifamily buildings over 50,000 square feet to report their annual energy and water consumption.   Using the U.S. EPA’s Portfolio Manager tool, impacted buildings must submit the previous year’s energy and water use by June 30th of each year.

In Philadelphia, more than 60 percent of citywide greenhouse gas emissions stem from building-energy use.  Benchmarking is a critical tool, helping building owners and managers in Philadelphia better understand their usage, drive energy performance improvements and mitigate climate change.  Learn more about the Energy and Benchmarking Disclosure Law by visiting the city's website.
