Wastewater Treatment

Wastewater Treatment

OFFERING EXTENSIVE EXPERTISE

Veolia is the industry’s most experienced operator of wastewater facilities, bar none. In North America, we operate more than 200 facilities – many of them for more than 30 years – gaining experience and insights into all facets of wastewater management challenges.

Our exemplary compliance record is the direct result of our strict quality control measures, including odor control and effluent quality, and is highlighted by a Clean Water Act compliance rate that exceeds 99 percent – a notable achievement, especially considering that some of our clients have wastewater facilities with historical issues.

OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE

We utilize advanced technologies (including advanced treatment, reclamation and recycling processes) and hands-on expertise to ensure efficient, safe and cost-effective quality operations.

TECHNOLOGIES

Our wastewater treatment experts address your most difficult compliance and treatment challenges by integrating the most advanced treatment technologies in the world, combined with our proprietary technologies.

CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

We provide exceptional DBO and capital management program skills to design, build and operate all types of assets under one roof, which transfers your risk and holds us to high standards that ultimately lead to optimal results for your organization.

FEATURED PROJECT

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Our goal was to improve wastewater plant performance and reduce costs when our contract began in 1984. Today, we are responsible for four wastewater facilities, as well as a pump station. Our accumulated savings are expected to approach $152 million by the end of our current contract.

ADDITIONAL PROJECTS

New Orleans
During Hurricane Katrina the levees overflowed by up to 18 feet onto the city's 400-acre wastewater treatment plant site, and Veolia employees worked around the clock to meet an EPA 60-day deadline to restore secondary treatment. Since starting work with New Orleans in 1992, we've saved the city millions while repairing and redesigning facilities for improvement.

Cle Elum, Washington
Our DBO and capital management program in Cle Elum is exceptional. We helped the community successfully finance the investment, completed the build four months ahead of schedule, completed 44,000 man-hours without a single lost-time accident to date, and recently won a state ecology award.

Lathrop, California
Burdened with an impending population boom of more than 50,000 residents over the next 20 years, Lathrop turned to us to help develop its wastewater infrastructure and implement a water conservation and education program. We completed construction ahead of schedule and on budget. Today, there is only one other similar state-of-the-art facility that produces comparable quality recycled water.

Burlingame, California
As the first and longest public-private partnership in the U.S. since 1972, Burlingame and Veolia have maintained the lowest sewer rates in San Mateo County and reduced power usage by 70 percent as a result of renewable energy technology. Today, the city continues to renew its contracts and trust us to manage their facilities and implement capital improvements.

U.S. Virgin Islands
With unique desalination and wastewater needs, more than 60 customers, ranging from large government clients to small hotel owners, turn to Veolia for our global expertise in seawater reverse osmosis desalination and wastewater technologies.
