Fill, Seal and Ship: Recycling at Your Fingertips

KEEPING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS OUT OF OUR ENVIRONMENT

Mercury, lead, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other hazardous compounds are used to produce things people use every day, including light bulbs, batteries, computer equipment and electronics (e-waste)—to name few.  Because these substances present a risk to human health, their disposal is subject to numerous federal and state regulations, including the Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).

Veolia is an expert in the handling and disposal of hazardous materials. We’ve used our skills and experience in this area to create our innovative and convenient RecyclePak® service, Veolia’s pe-paid mail recycling program. RecyclePak® is ideal for residential and business consumers who need to recycle everyday items that contain hazardous substances. RecyclePak® is designed to ensure safety and regulatory compliance—and to keep waste and harmful chemicals out of landfills and the environment.

THE MOST CONVENIENT WAY TO RECYCLE

Safe handling and disposal of items that contain hazardous substances is imperative. Veolia’s RecyclePak® services make it easy for you to stay safe and meet regulatory requirements. With RecyclePak®, you can recycle a range of quantities—from just a few compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) to enough e-waste to fill an office building or a warehouse. You simply go online to order prepaid shipping containers for whatever quantity you need.

RecyclePak® containers are available for batteries; fluorescent lamps and ballast; mercury-containing devices; dental waste; and electronics. One price includes everything you need to recycle these materials, including packaging, shipping, processing and documentation. When your RecyclePak® is full, simply ship it to Veolia for processing, using the prepaid return shipping label that is provided with the packaging.

Your waste is shipped directly to Veolia for recycling at one of our state and federally-licensed recycling facilities. At these facilities, we operate advanced technologies to safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials and—where possible—to extract and recycle parts of the waste for reuse. At Veolia, protecting the environment and turning waste into a resource are among our core values.

Veolia’s RecyclePak® program features:
  • Easy-to-use, prepaid, RecyclePak® shipping containers to house a broad range of quantities and materials, such as electronics, lamps, ballast, mercury devices, dental amalgam and batteries

  • Easy-to-follow handling and packing instructions
  • Documented compliance certificates to help you prove compliance with state and federal regulations
