LOMBARD, Ill. – The Electronics Recycling Division (ERD) of Veolia ES Technical Solutions, LLC, is pleased to recognize Solomon Corporation as the winner of its Environmental Stewardship Award for 2011. Solomon Corporation is a leader in comprehensive solutions for transformer repair, maintenance, recycling and disposal needs.

“In late 2010, Solomon Corporation executives realized the company needed an end of life solution for draining transformers that could not be processed on site,” said Stefanie Fairless, account manager, Veolia Environmental Services. “Solomon Corporation is truly a leader in providing an environmentally sound answer to their customers for recycling and disposing of electrical equipment, especially spent transformers.”

Each year, Veolia selects valued customers from each region of the country that have demonstrated a dedication to environmental stewardship that goes above and beyond a traditional recycling program. Solomon Corporation’s integration of environmental protection, continual improvement of environmental performance and environmental awareness efforts exemplify what it means for a company to pursue environmentally sustainable business practices.

"This is a great honor that our company is very proud of," said Katie Platten, vice president of Solomon Corporation. “We've made great strides in our sustainability efforts both within Solomon Corporation and in support of our customers' efforts. This award recognizes our commitment to be an environmentally responsible company and solutions provider."

Veolia Environmental Services partnered with Solomon Corporation by providing disposal options for draining transformers that they cannot process on their site. Since its inception in 1971, Solomon Corporation has been a leader in helping thousands of businesses with their electrical equipment disposal needs.
