Veolia Energy North America President and CEO Elected to Two International Boards

BOSTON, Sept. 14, 2009- Veolia Energy North America, a leading provider of sustainable energy services and facility operations and management solutions, announced today that its President and CEO, Stewart A. Wood, has been elected to two prominent organizational Boards. Mr. Wood will serve on both the International District Energy Association’s (IDEA) 20- member Board of Directors and the French-American Chamber of Commerce, New England Chapter’s (FACCNE) 18-member Board of Directors.

Mr. Wood will serve for a three-year term on the IDEA board.He was nominated by the nominating committee and then elected at the annual meeting, conducted during IDEA's 100th Annual Conference & Trade Show in Washington D.C.In his role as a Board member, Mr. Wood will help advance IDEA's mission to support the growth and utilization of district energy as a means to conserve fuel and increase energy efficiency to improve the global environment.Currently, IDEA represents over 1,200 members from 25 different countries, including district energy executives, managers, engineers, consultants and equipment suppliers.

Mr. Wood has also joined the board of the French-American Chamber of Commerce, New England Chapter.Mr. Wood will join the 18 other board members, serving for a two-year term.Mr. Wood was recently honored at the FACCNE's 8th Annual Business Awards Dinner, which brought together international and local leaders offering insight into current energy policy including energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction.The French American Chamber of Commerce contributes to the development and improvement of economic, commercial and financial relations between France and the United States.
