Veolia’s energy consulting business helps Ithaca explore community microgrid concepts

A feasibility study led by SourceOne, Veolia’s energy consulting business, will explore microgrid concepts to achieve energy independence for the City of Ithaca, New York.  By creating new ways of supplying energy, independent from the traditional electric grid, the city will be better positioned to support critical facilities during power outages, provide more sustainable, clean energy to the community and build reliability and resiliency into the electric grid. 
“By exploring a range of supply and demand side solutions, the City of Ithaca is adopting a strategic approach to ensure energy reliability,” said Matt Cinadr, project manager at SourceOne.  “We applaud the city in pursuing the most sustainable, reliable and cost effective energy solution for the community and its residents.”
