Pennsylvania Congressman visits Philadelphia Facility

Congressman Patrick Meehan visited Veolia's Greys Ferry combined heat and power plant in Philadelphia to learn more about the energy efficiency and carbon reduction benefits of producing steam and electricity simultaneously.

The co-generated steam, called "Green Steam," helps avoid approximately 430,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually; the equivalent of removing 70,000 automobiles from the streets each year.  In 2012, Veolia completed a $60 million investment to upgrade its natural gas infrastructure, increasing its production of Green Steam.
